New type highly flexible lithium ion battery is invented
A new type flexible half transparent lithium ion battery is invented.
This new type battery developed by two researchers of Northwestern University can recover to its original shape after random stretching without any bad influence on the battery performance; it is actually composed of 100 tiny battery arrays. These small cells are fixed on a flexible substrate material, connected with each other through the S-type folding wire, so even being stretched to be 300% of the original size can be no problem for it at all.
It is said that the flexible battery has almost the same capacity with conventional similar size lithium-ion battery; researchers will add wireless charging systems onto the battery, so it can be powerful.
